  2. Women's Rights Around the World
Thousands of women around the world are stripped of their rights. From Iraq to Saudi Arabia women are faced with brutal changes and harm every day, and only few to none are getting help.

There are so many wars that go on across the world and this leaves young women in so much harm. From getting kidnapped to being stripped of their education and encountering violence, women are not always safe in their own home. Some of the worst places for women are Iraq, because of all the violence targeted at women, Somalia, because there is a civil war going on, Pakistan, because women are punished for the men's crime, and so many more places. Lots of women flee their home and try coming to places like the U.S because they just want to be safe.

In my opinion it is so sad to see what women go through every single day. Nobody should have to go through such violence. I think there needs to be a way for people to help women and kids get to safety a whole lot easier.

What do you think of Women's Rights around the World?

    1. This also happens to men, but in my opinion that was a truthful blog, and very informational. Good job!

    2. I wholeheartedly agree with your standpoint. It is heart-wrenching to see photos of people in general being mistreated. This is a very educational blog post, and I especially love the that you think that we always need a program to help women that are being mistreated, because I see so many people online that do not think that women are equal to men and need the same rights. That was an amazing blog post, good job!

    3. Caden - I think you are right about men leaving to find safe places to live. What do you think about the imbalance of equal rights in the countries Safa mentioned?

  5. Human Rights. We the humans all have rights, from America to the Russian Border. Anywhere,
As a Citizen you should have the right whether you go to school or not. You can't force someone to be educated as it's their choice, their life, their future. Students shall have the right to choose an Online Class or a Teaching class. Parents being charged for their child not going to school is not right, the officer should have no right to focus a charge to the guardian. Doing an Online class will save your parents so much (Budget Wise.) Parents spend more than 800$ Dollars on lunch for their kids a year. It's truly insane, Saving all that money will buy Groceries, Pay for bills, Child Support and more. Dropping out of school at 17(The Law) Is completely useless as your going to College the next year. If your going to drop out it should be 15 and older as you more than likely have a job. If your on an online class the school pays less money for food items and everything. There wont be as much bus riders nor walkers. So the administration doesn't need to always be outside. There will be less fights and arguments. This is our blog/idea Caden March, and Joe Knecht

    1. In my opinion kids shouldn't drop out of school, but parents shouldn't have to be charged for there child's actions.

    2. Although an online class is a great idea, you are saying it should be optional if a student should get an education or not. I do love the less fights idea, but then the student might not learn social skills. This 'optional school' would be problematic, as people who do not go to college or school get paid less money in the long run. People in poverty tend to stay in poverty, creating an even bigger wage gap. Parents might make their kids stay home with younger kids for free daycare, putting the children in danger. Free/reduced price breakfasts and lunches would be harder to hand out among students, because they are not all in one place. Without those meals, an overwhelming number of students would be malnourished. To get into some colleges, you have to have a high school diploma, achieved when you graduate high school. If a student dropped out at fifteen it would most likely be because he/she is in a rebellious stage or their parents make them work to support their family. Even though it seems like an amazing idea to a student in junior high school, going deeper resurfaces a lot of problems.

    3. I agree with the part about everybody has human rights but not with the rest. I do not think a 5 year old should be able to decide their life course. Many kids do not understand that with out education students cant get a good job. This will create money problems for the student for the rest of there life. The choice to no school would result in more poverty than there already is. Although I like the part about online school, I do not like this idea.

    4. Addie - Your attention to the "bigger picture" of the problems associated with an undereducated populace gave me new insights to think about. I do think that there is a potential for some families to think that a student's time would be better spent helping the family, rather than going to school.

Also, adolescents do not generally have an understanding of how their current actions truly affect their futures. Part of supporting young people's education and making sure their parents support this does involve the legal system.

  6. The Way To Learn Best For You, Joining an online class would save time for everyone. It gives teachers time. All the teachers will need to do is: Assign the project and make a video to watch on how to do it. No more parents paying for lunch money. Doing this will give kids more sleep and more time to do what they want for a change,
Just make a due date for the online work, Let's say about the next day. The teacher assigns the project and a video, there's a due date. You finish it on time and get graded. Parents will no more have to worry about their kid getting snatched on there way to school or home. Parents wont even have to worry about transportation.
Doing this still gives your children responsibility. Plugging their PC in at night, making sure the homework is done on time, watching the video. This will also give time for your kids if they have jobs, or need to watch a younger sibling. - Caden March & Joe Knecht

    1. I think it would be fun to just have online school, but you also have to think about social skills for children and exercise. School is not just about learning but also getting to know different kinds of kids and also since at school you have P.E you are able to get the exercise teens and kids need everyday.

    2. Although I would love an online class, the problem with this is that children learn best in different ways. Some kids would greatly benefit from this form of teaching, but some would fail because they need a teacher to support them while they learn. Although I love the idea for students who could handle it, most wouldn't be able to.

    3. Joe and Caden -

When you mention that parents wouldn't have to spend money on lunches, I assume you need more information about how students pay for meals at school. At BJHS, many students have free meals or pay a reduced price, and the government pays the rest. If students do not eat at school, their parents then pay 100% of these costs.

Also - I would be interested to see what statistics you have about students being kidnapped on the way to/from school.

Last, parents do not generally have to worry about transportation as we have school buses. However, the school would save money on transportation if students were learning at home and not at school.

  7. The Right To Play ... Not all humans have the right to play. By play I mean time with friends, family, relaxing time. Many workers get no time to play nor do some students.
Students and workers spend hours doing their job or whatever they do, With no 'play' they're not active, giving them this will get rid of energy, stress, anger, and more. Everyone needs time to there self. By giving them this time they may release whatever they had before. We should give time to people during the middle of the day, This is when they're stressed from work and are ready to relax and run around. Honestly everyone needs a break at one point in their day, whether it's outside, lunch, couch, break room. Give people their time whether they're White, Black, Red, Yellow.| - Caden March - Joe Knecht |

    1. I agree being able to play can give you the time you need to socialize with others, relax, and get the stress and problems you have out. I know sometimes adults have problems with getting rights to relax because they have to work to make money and I also get that teens don't get to relax as much because they need a good education, but it is part of our human rights to 'play' or relax.

    2. I really like that part about needing time to relax. Many adults are grumpy and mean because they don't have time to relax. It's a really great point.

    1. My favorite post that you wrote is the entry on Women's Education. Your post completely embodies the fact that most countries don't provide an education for more than half of their population. It is always sad to see that women around the world aren't given an equal start in life because of something that they can't control. I love your blog's setup, and it is very easy to navigate.

  12. Did you know 31 million girls don't get to go to school or are illiterate? Many girls around the world drop out of school before fifth grade, making them very uneducated. Up to 20 nations don’t even let girls go to school. Many things stand in the way of girls even going to kindergarten, like laws, responsibility, and poverty.

In more rural areas girls are another set of hands to work and provide money. Girls are forced into young marriage for money preventing them from finishing school, if they can afford it. Laws like the ones in Afghanistan also prevent girls from learning with boys. Up to 20 nations don’t let girls go to school. Some girls end up pregnant. Even when girls are allowed to go to school threats from other people stop them from going. Therefore many girls are ripped of their education.

Do you think girls should be allowed to go to school?

    1. Yes! All girls should be able to go to school-in fact, everyone should be able to go to school! Believing that everyone should be given opportunities in life is fundamental to being a likable human being. When I read that 20 nations don't allow their girls to go to school, I completely flipped. This should never be an option for any person in power.

    2. It's truly sad that people can be that harsh and not let women go to school.... Hopefully that starts getting fixed in this generation or the next. Amazing blog.

    3. This is sadly true. I think girls should be able to go to school, no matter what others believe. I am so happy there are women like Malala Yousafzai that will help young girls get and education.

  13. Why we should have the right to play, We the people should have our time to relax, “You know?” Giving them time to their self. Why wouldn’t we give them time? This makes them more effective and ready for the next hours or next day of work. Like some places don’t do recess and do a long lunch. The lunch break lets you, Talk, Cooperate, fill your stomach and more. Not a lot of people do have this right, that’s why we should help them make this come true. To be honest I find the schools that don’t give lunch or recess, the jobs that don’t give breaks. Are complete idiots. It’s stupid on their end as well. Not giving them this time. 1. Will make them insane, not being able to release energy. 2. Leave School. 3. Lawsuit. Jobs: 1. Complaints, 2. Retire. 3. Quit. The lunch break/break should be around 15-30 min. This will give them the time they need to calm down. Depending if it’s a class that’s about an hour or two, then you don’t need it. If your school is 8 hours long then yes you need a break. So do workers.

  14. Avoid using words like: idiots, insane
These words undermine your argument. Use examples that would help us see that you are "right" without insulting the other side.

  15. There are three types of discrimination: age, sex, race. Age discrimination involves treating someone different because of their age. The ADEA forbids the unfair treatment of people based on age. Sex discrimination is when you are treated unfairly based on being a certain gender. This includes sexual harassment where someone touches or verbally says things that make another feel uncomfortable.Sex discrimination might also include treating women different because of their sex/gender.Race discrimination Infers to treating people differently because of their race the Federal law prohibits discrimination in a workplace.Incidents of discrimination could take many forms in a workplace. such as women being paid less to do the same as a man. Did you know for every dollar men are paid women are at 70 cents. What do you think about that?
